The journey to Alacati

Yesterday, Monday June 18th 2007 we had a nice journey with the whole EFPT - so called family - from Rhodos to the next event site in Alacati/Turkey.
It all started on Sunday evening, as we had to load a Truck which brought our equipment to the port in Rhodos. All riders paid to have Sumsi - Michael Sumereder - looking for our equipment for the whole night.
Next morning 7am we arrived with a taxi, loaded all our Equipment onto the ferry's front and at 8 the trip started with departure to Marmaris in Turkey. We arrived around 1,5 hours later and first had to unload our stuff again...after some formalities with visas and stuff, we ended up at the exit of the ferry-port, where a little truck was waiting already. Check the pix below, we used a special technique, developed mainly by Andre Paskowski during the trip last year, to fit all the equipment onto the Truck.
Half an hour later, our nice bus arrived. Fully equiped with aircondition, we were heading for Alacati. Short stop in Marmaris - and what else do 20 hungry windsurfers do first in Turkey - exactly!! - they split up and run half to BurgerKing and half to McDonalds!
The journey to Alacati (near Cesme) took around 7 hours, but was pretty relaxed and we had a few breaks.
Finally there, the nice little pensions Shaka and Herman welcome us. One more time stressy - unloading the truck - and at 8 free pasta at Shaka.. so far so good...hope it goes on like this,...stay tuned....

greets from Alacati
