EFPT Neusiedlersee - Podersdorf - Austria

 Well - arrived on Thursday afternoon...
No wind on Friday (yesterday) - so we spent the day doing press work like giving interviews and so on. In the evening there was a big concert of Silbermond - and a riders presentation set to 1am. Was a big party like always in Podersdorf...check some pix in the gallery-section...
We really hope for wind - it looks quite good for tomorrow (Sunday), there is some forecast of something between 10 to 15 knots from the north. The locals say they thing it could work..we'll see...
If there's gonna be wind, i'll be sailing against Tom Hartmann (AUT 44), another Austrian. We met already around 5 times in the last years - don't remember how's the standing between us, but it's gonna be a tough heat...
Tom and Dani Bikich have built a ramp for to jump pretty high...Tom and some other guys already tested it and it works!! - if there's gonna be wind, we'll get some serious action!

Lake Garda

Had been at the Lake last week... every day sailing on my Loft 360free 4,7 and partly overpowered. Incredible how strong the thermal winds are in spring at lago di garda. The water is pretty ok already and gets warmer every day, no shoes necessary!!

Good time for thermal winds

The weather finally cleared up and it is almost like summer here already... 27°C in Tyrol in April is about 10°C over the normal average...
This pushes the thermal winds... I went to Lake Garda last week for 3 days...was pretty good, always sailing on my 5,2 Loft 360Free and the I-Style 94 - also had pretty strong peler (north wind at Lake Garda) on Wednesday morning - used my Exocet CrossII 84 for the first time...huh...very fast and super manoeuverable...nice...
The water was cold, but it's possible to sail without shoes already!!

Well - the weekend we did a tour through the mountains here in Tyrol (Kühtai)...Hope to be able to go to the lake again soon...preparing for the EFPT Event at Lake Neusiedel in Austria (still 500km away..)---cu there!!

Not a lot news - there's a low pressure over italy, which means no wind on lake garda. Here in Tirol/Austria we have around 15°C every day and some sunny hours.
Maybe till easter, the weather will clear up and finally the wind starts at the lake. Usually spring is the best time for the Ora - the south wind at lake garda - can be enough for 4,7 some days...
In the meantime i am helping in the surfshop - Tirolsail (www.tirolsail.com).

Hope to be able to deliver some action soon!

No luck with Tarifa - back in Austria

Well, back here in Austria, it was snowing the last week - 5°C airtemp,..don't want to speak about the watertemperatures....
